GPS walk with short films
The city liberated in 1944
Follow the liberators through the inner city. At historic locations, short films open about the days when 's-Hertogenbosch was liberated street by street. This walk is ideal for local residents who want to know their city better and for visitors who want to see more than the familiar streets in about two hours.
Oktober 1944
In October 1944, British troops of the 53rd Welsh Division entered the city. Liberation was not one single moment of celebration, but a series of tense and dangerous days with shelling, fires, civilians sheltering and fighting in narrow streets.
This walk passes places where those events can still be imagined: bridges, streets, the station, the Market Square and places where local residents and liberators met.

Tips along the way
The route works on your phone. Allow location access and take your time at each point. The films are short, but deserve a moment of attention.
The stories work best with clear sound.
This helps you follow the films calmly, even in busier places.
Preferably watch the films horizontally. The image is larger and calmer.
Stand still during videos and stay alert to traffic and other walkers.
